Physician-Guided Skincare for Healthier, More Resilient Skin

At Amara Medical Aesthetics in Bellevue, skincare is not an afterthought—it is an essential part of achieving and maintaining healthy, radiant skin. We offer a curated selection of medical-grade skincare products designed to support long-term skin health, enhance treatment results, and address a wide range of skin concerns.

Physician-Guided Skincare by Dr. Kristin Tarbet

At Amara Medical Aesthetics, skincare recommendations are guided by the expertise of Dr. Kristin J. Tarbet, M.D., FACS, a triple board-certified oculofacial plastic surgeon in Bellevue.

Dr. Tarbet’s background in facial anatomy, surgical precision, and advanced aesthetic techniques allows her to approach skincare differently than traditional providers. Rather than focusing solely on surface-level concerns, she evaluates how skin quality, structure, and long-term health work together to support natural, balanced results.

As a national educator and lecturer with academic appointments at institutions including the University of Washington and the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Tarbet remains at the forefront of evolving skincare science. Her approach emphasizes personalized treatment plans that integrate medical-grade skincare with in-office procedures for optimal outcomes.

This physician-led perspective ensures that every product recommendation is purposeful, effective, and aligned with your individual goals.

Why Medical-Grade Skincare Matters

Medical-grade skincare products are formulated with higher concentrations of active ingredients and are designed to penetrate deeper layers of the skin. Unlike over-the-counter options, these products are backed by clinical research and are selected based on proven results.

At Amara Medical Aesthetics, our skincare recommendations are guided by professional evaluation and tailored to support:

  • Skin health and barrier function
  • Collagen production and anti-aging
  • Pigmentation and tone correction
  • Acne and congestion management
  • Post-procedure healing and maintenance

Personalized Skincare for Every Stage of Your Skin

Your skin’s needs change over time. That is why we focus on creating customized skincare plans based on your current condition, not just your age.

We help patients address:

  • Early prevention and maintenance
  • Signs of aging and loss of elasticity
  • Texture, tone, and pigmentation concerns
  • Recovery and maintenance after aesthetic procedures

Our goal is to ensure that your skincare routine evolves with you, supporting both immediate improvements and long-term results.

Professional Skincare Systems: ZO® Skin Health

We proudly offer ZO® Skin Health, a physician-dispensed skincare line developed to improve skin function and deliver visible, lasting results.

ZO products are designed to work as complete systems rather than standalone products. These regimens support everything from daily maintenance to targeted correction.

Commonly recommended options include:

  • Foundational systems such as the Getting Skin Ready Kit
  • Advanced repair products like Growth Factor Serum
  • Daily protection and strengthening with products such as Daily Power Defense

Sun protection is also a critical part of any skincare routine, helping to preserve results and prevent further damage.

Hydrinity®: Advanced Skin Hydration & Regeneration

We also offer the Hydrinity® skincare line, known for its advanced approach to skin hydration and regenerative support.

Hydrinity products are designed to:

  • Support skin healing and recovery
  • Improve hydration at a deeper level
  • Enhance overall skin quality and resilience

These products are often incorporated into both daily routines and post-procedure care to optimize results.

Oxygenetix®: Post-Procedure Skincare & Protection

After aesthetic treatments, your skin requires specialized care to heal properly and maintain results.

We offer products such as Oxygenetix® Breathable Foundation, which is designed to:

  • Provide coverage while allowing the skin to breathe
  • Support healing after procedures
  • Reduce irritation and congestion

Using a super charged oxygen complex, the foundation allows you to hide your scars while encouraging collagen cell and connective tissue growth, and  is particularly beneficial following treatments such as microneedling, laser procedures, and chemical peels.

Targeted Enhancement Products

In addition to full skincare systems, we offer targeted solutions to enhance specific areas.

Products like EYEnvy® Lash Serum are designed to:

  • Support lash growth and strength
  • Improve overall lash appearance
  • Enhance natural features without invasive treatment

These products complement a comprehensive skincare approach focused on both skin health and aesthetic refinement.

FAQs About Medical-Grade Skincare Products

Is Blepharoplasty Painful?

No. Blepharoplasty is a conservative plastic surgery procedure that is often performed using a local anesthetic to numb the eye area along with sedation. The sedative does not put the patient to sleep, as does general anesthesia, but it does create a sense of calm and relaxation. Patients may feel the doctor working with sensations like pressure or tugging. These are not painful and do not create stress thanks to the effects of the sedative. After the procedure, patients can expect mild to moderate tenderness and soreness. These are managed by following the postoperative instructions provided by the office.

How Can I Prepare For Eyelid Surgery?

Your health and satisfaction are our priority as we prepare for your eyelid lift. If you smoke, you will need to quit at least 4 weeks prior to your procedure. Doing so gives your body the time that is needed to improve circulation and oxygenation to tissues and the skin. Beginning a week to 10 days before surgery, you will need to avoid certain medications and products. If you take a prescription blood thinner, inform Dr. Tarbet during your consultation. You may need to contact the prescribing physician for an alternative, if possible. Over-the-counter products and supplements that can thin the blood must also be avoided. Examples include ibuprofen, aspirin, and St. Johns Wort. To build optimal physical capacity for healing, it is advisable to eat a very healthy, whole-food diet in the few weeks before surgery. Include lean protein, healthy fats, and several servings of fresh vegetables and fruits each day.

Can I Combine An Eyelid Lift With Other Facial Rejuvenation Procedures?

Yes. Many patients combine their blepharoplasty procedure with other treatments. These may include other surgical lifts or nonsurgical treatments. Examples of procedures commonly performed either at the same time as blepharoplasty or in close proximity to the surgery include a brow lift, facelift, AccuTite, Ultherapy, or chemical peels.

How Can I Maintain My Blepharoplasty Results?

The signs of aging inevitably recur at some point after blepharoplasty. With proper skin care and sun protection, this progression can be managed more efficiently. Sun exposure is a significant factor in the breakdown of collagen and firm skin. To protect the eyes, apply an eye-safe SPF sunscreen every day. Wear sunglasses outdoors and, on days you'll be out for a longer period, wear a wide-brimmed hat. Eating well is an integral aspect of aging well even as it pertains to the skin. To promote graceful aging, eat a balanced diet that has more fresh fruits and vegetables and lean protein than sugar, salt, and refined carbs.

You may also extend the cosmetic benefits of your eyelid lift by scheduling nonsurgical treatments that promote tissue tightening and collagen production. These may occur once a year or every few years depending on the changes you see in your skin.

Will There Be Scarring After My Eyelid Surgery?

Flesh-colored, self-absorbable sutures are commonly used. Scars may remain pink for nearly 6 months after surgery, but eventually fade to a subtle white line. Smoking always delays healing time.

Though healing takes time, it is only temporary in comparison to the long-lasting youthful results you will gain with eyelid surgery!
