FaceTite: Non-Surgical Facelift In Bellevue

Available at AMARA Medical Aesthetics, in Bellevue, WA, FaceTite® radiofrequency (RF) treatments improve wrinkles and skin laxity with lasting results and less downtime. This advanced skin-tightening procedure addresses the natural decline of collagen and elastin, providing an ongoing boost to the production of these two proteins that are the foundation of younger-looking skin. Serving Bellevue and the surrounding areas of Washington, AMARA Medical Aesthetics is pleased to offer FaceTite as a safe, effective, and minimally invasive approach to facial rejuvenation.

What Is FaceTite?

Performed onsite by Oculofacial Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Kristin J. Tarbet, FaceTite is a non-surgical facial lifting and tightening treatment that utilizes radiofrequency (RF) energy to restore tone and contours, particularly to the lower region of the face. Surpassing the capability of RF microneedling, this FDA-cleared device delivers more profound fat coagulation, collagen remodeling and elastin growth than can be achieved with procedures using an external application of RF energy alone.

FaceTite: Candidates and Consultation

Adults with mild to moderate signs of aging in these areas, but who wish to avoid plastic surgery, may be excellent candidates for the FaceTite procedure. A comprehensive consultation with Dr. Tarbet will confirm your individual health compatibility and, depending on your treatment goals, if FaceTite is the right procedure to address your concerns.

FaceTite can improve the appearance of several common age-related changes in the face. These include:

  • Mild submental fullness
  • Sagging jowls
  • Laxity in the jawline and neck
  • Drooping brow line

How Is FaceTite Performed?

FaceTite treatment is performed using local anesthesia to ensure a comfortable treatment experience. Once the area is numb, the doctor makes a small incision at the edge of the jawline near the ear. Through the incision, the doctor inserts a thin probe to deliver thermal energy to underlying tissues. A plastic cap at the end of the probe prevents perforation and unnecessary tissue trauma.

After inserting the internal probe, the doctor places an external electrode over the skin in a parallel position to work in unison for targeted energy delivery and absorption. It is through this scientifically proven process, that FaceTite stimulates immediate tightening, along with progressive fat coagulation, collagen remodeling and elastin growth that continues for several weeks.

To target the treatment area, the doctor moves the probe and electrode together along the jawline, neck, or brow. The entire treatment process is typically 60-90 minutes, upon conclusion of the procedure, patients are able to go home immediately.

FaceTite: Recovery and Results

FaceTite is a minimally invasive procedure, so downtime during recovery is far less than a surgical facelift, however, patients should plan a few days of rest to recover from the effects of deposited radiofrequency energy and, if applicable, simultaneous liposuction. The side effects of FaceTite include mild to moderate bruising, swelling, redness, and soreness or tenderness.

Some patients experience temporary numbness. Following our post-treatment care instructions, patients are typically ready to return to work in a week or two, once they can remove the headwrap that has been applied to manage swelling and support new facial contours.

Some degree of improvement can be seen immediately after the FaceTite procedure. However, mild swelling does distort the new facial contours for a few days. By the end of the first week after treatment, tightened contours and smoother skin are visible.

Improvements may continue for approximately 6 months, after which patients enjoy their new contours for an average of 3 to 5 years. FaceTite may be repeated as necessary to continue the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin.

FAQs: FaceTite

How Do I Prepare For A FaceTite Procedure?

In the one to two weeks before undergoing the FaceTite procedure, patients who smoke or use nicotine should stop, as all forms of nicotine use can impair the blood flow that is necessary for optimal healing and thereby prolong recovery. Patients are also advised to stop using medications and supplements that thin the blood. Examples include vitamin E, fish oil, aspirin, and ibuprofen.

Is FaceTite Painful?

Aside from the momentary discomfort that comes with administering a local anesthetic, patients are comfortable during the treatment. Some swelling, tenderness and bruising are to be expected after the procedure.

Can I drive home after the procedure?

Because FaceTite calls for a short recovery during which swelling, bruising, and discomfort could cause fatigue, it is wise to arrange for someone to drive home from the appointment and also remain with the patient for 24 hours.

Is radiofrequency energy really all that effective for tightening skin?

Yes! Radiofrequency (RF) energy is a highly effective and scientifically proven method for non-surgical skin tightening. It works by delivering controlled heat deep into the skin’s layers, stimulating collagen and elastin production. This natural response improves skin firmness, reduces laxity, and enhances overall contouring.

Who Isn't a Candidate for FaceTite?

The best way to determine your individual compatibility with FaceTite is through a consultation with Dr. Tarbet. Those individuals with the following concerns and conditions may need to avoid or delay treatment.

  1. Severe Skin Laxity – If a person has excessive skin sagging, FaceTite may not provide sufficient tightening, and a traditional facelift may be a better option.
  2. Significant Excess Fat – FaceTite is not a weight-loss treatment. Individuals with a substantial amount of excess fat in the face or neck may require liposuction or other procedures for optimal results.
  3. Certain Medical Conditions – People with uncontrolled diabetes, autoimmune diseases, blood clotting disorders, or other systemic health issues may not be ideal candidates due to potential complications with healing.
  4. Pregnant or Breastfeeding Women – As with most elective cosmetic procedures, FaceTite is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant or nursing.
  5. Active Skin Infections or Conditions – Those with active acne, rosacea, eczema, or other significant skin conditions in the treatment area should wait until their skin condition is resolved.
  6. Pacemakers or Implantable Devices – Since FaceTite uses radiofrequency energy, individuals with pacemakers or other implantable electronic devices may not be eligible due to potential interference.
  7. History of Poor Wound Healing – If a person has a history of keloid scarring or poor wound healing, they should consult with a professional to determine if FaceTite is a safe option.
  8. Unrealistic Expectations – FaceTite can provide noticeable skin tightening and contouring, but it does not replicate the results of a surgical facelift. Patients seeking more dramatic changes may need a different procedure.
